JusMarCus, born
Marcus I. Peterson was raised in Riviera Beach, Florida.
He knew at an early age that music was his passion. He
received his start in gospel at the age of 12 with such
quartet groups as “The Faith Gospel Singers”, “Leroy
Barney & the Heavenly Voices”, “Cross Brothers” and
“Revelations”. He found his home with the “Flint
Cavaliers”, where he began to perform, write and tour
nationwide. After 9 years of singing quartet with the
Cavaliers, Marcus decided to branch out and pursue his
solo career as a gospel artist. Marcus has written and
produced his own works, such as the single “It is what
it is”, which is a riveting account of how people need
to take their problems to Jesus and leave it, because
“It is what it is” and they can’t change it.
Flint Cavaliers, Jimmy Hicks, Donnie McClurklin, and
Rance Allen are among Marcus’s greatest musical
influences. Their vocal abilities are extraordinary and
their ability to capture the essence of what their
listeners are going through is phenomenal. The way that
they uplift and identify with their audience is a
mesmerizing reminder of what music especially gospel
should do which is to inspire and touch the heart of
others! Through music Marcus wants to branch the gap
between young and old with one common goal of
introducing, facilitating and fostering relationships
with Christ.
